How does Smile Makeover treatment work?
Step #1 Initial Assessment & Preparation
We first considered whitening her teeth to improve their colour. To make a more noticeable difference, we also discussed combining this with composite bonding, which would allow us to slightly change the shape and appearance of the teeth. For a more significant transformation, the patient had the option of either composite or ceramic veneers. Both of these would change the appearance of the teeth by adding a new layer over them.
Step #2 Choosing Ceramic Veneers
Since the patient wanted the most dramatic change, she opted for ceramic veneers, which provide long-lasting and natural-looking results.
Step #3 Digital Smile Design and Mock-Up
We started by taking photographs and a digital scan of her teeth. Using these, we created a digital model of what her new smile could look like. We then applied a temporary mock-up over her teeth (without any drilling) to show the expected outcome.
Step #4 Patient Approval
After reviewing the mock-up with the patient and ensuring she was happy with the proposed result, we moved forward with the treatment.
Step #5 Minimal Preparation and Final Veneers
We performed a minimal preparation on her teeth and, two weeks later, placed the final ceramic veneers. The result was a beautifully natural smile with healthy gums, thanks to the collaboration with our dental technician.
