Case Study: A step-by-step approach to immediate implants
It does not always have to be an implant! Sometimes, especially in young patients a one-winged all-ceramic resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (Maryland/Rochette bridge) can be the treatment of choice.

As preparation is always key, we try to reshape the gums as well as possible to imitate the prosthetic tooth emerging from the gums naturally. This can be done easily using a retainer, a nightguard or a simple pulldown. We then create a simple split flap and push the top part of the gums to the labial side and keep the new gum shape in place with a composite ovate pontic (Figure 1 and 2). The final bridge is made from
full ceramic (Zirconia) and adhesively bonded using a special cement (Panavia V) with MDP-containing primer (Figure 3 and 4).
