We take pride in providing you with a detailed and bespoke treatment plan based on your dentist’s recommendations. However, we will always speak openly with you about potential treatments and consider your financial budget and medical needs so that you have no added worries. We take pride in our diagnostics and treatment planning and as such our initial quotes rarely change. If a quote did need to change due to unforeseen dental circumstances, it would be thoroughly discussed with the patient.

Endodontic consultation

This is a 45 minute appointment with one of our experienced dentists who are highly skilled in diagnosing and treating tooth pain and undertaking root canal treatment. Your endodontist will ask you a few questions about your pain, lifestyle and dental history followed by an inspection of the area to assess what course of action is appropriate. They will then outline and clearly explain a proposed treatment plan with what the next steps are.

Zoom whitening

This treatment involves the careful application of whitening gel onto the surface of the teeth combined with the use of a powerful UV lamp to accelerate the whitening process. This requires preparation to protect the soft tissues of the mouth followed by four sessions of 15 minutes with the whitening gel applied onto the outer tooth surfaces to gently and effectively lighten the shade.

Inlay

If you have old and insufficient fillings or new decay we can repair those defects using inlays. They are comparable to fillings, just that this filling material is made from ceramic and we need to involve a dental technician. With a 80% chance of success, inlays can last around 20 years.

As with composite veneers, ceramic veneers can cover cracked or discoloured teeth or correct misaligned teeth. We prepare the respective teeth and take a digital impression. The dental technician prepares a model and produces an ideal ceramic cover for your tooth.

Post and core

If a tooth has lost a lot of substance, but we can still save it, we need to build it up so that it can hold a crown. The build-up consists of a ceramic, composite or metal post which is bonded adhesively into the tooth and a composite is used to replace the lost substance. Then the tooth is normally prepared and a crown is placed.

If a crown from another dentist de-cements we can recement it using adhesive procedures. A precondition is an intact crown and no presence of decay. If the crown has been placed by us, any recementing will be done free of charge up to 5 years after treatment.

Adhesive bridge (Maryland bridge)

Maryland bridges are adhesively bonded bridges which require a minimum amount of preparation of the adjacent teeth. This treatment is especially beneficial for adolescents or patients who don’t want to grind down their neighbouring teeth or who have implant surgery. Our Maryland bridges are fully ceramic.

For our bridge treatments, we make sure the gum situation is perfect and that the teeth are treated for decay or root canal infections. We then prepare the teeth and take digital impressions. The difference to a bridge to replace the back teeth is, that for an anterior bridge the technician has to veneer each tooth individually so that the result cannot be differentiated anymore from the neighbouring teeth. Please note that this additional and necessary professional time has to be reflected in the fee.

The CBCT is a three-dimensional X-ray showing us nearly all there is to see with regards to the teeth and the bones. You will be given a CD which contains the program to read the data and we will give you a short report of our findings and a suggestion for a treatment.

We also take impressions from your teeth and produce a drilling template so that we know exactly in which position to place the implant. This leads to a better fitting restoration and should be used when two implants or more are placed.

Implant placement (per implant)

The charge for the implant really depends on the individual situation. Sometimes it is very easy to place an implant if the bone and the soft tissue situation allows it – e.g. no loss of bone volume or intact anatomical structures. We only place implants from the biggest and best researched implant companies world wide – Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Zimmer Biomet and Camlog. Thus we make sure that the products have strict quality controls and that we have spare parts for the next 50 years.

Bone graft

If bone is missing and not replaced, the long term stability of an implant is impaired. We are experts in the field of implantation with simultaneous bone augmentation. Our goal is to establish enough bone to ensure long term successful implant stability and aesthetic success. Our bone grafting materials (e.g. BioOss, Endobon) are of bovine origin and come from the world’s biggest producers (e.g. Geistlich, Zimmer Biomet). We always cover our bone augmentation materials with membranes (also of bovine origin, e.g. BioGuide or Osseoguard). In cases of religious belief, we can use completely artificial materials, which are not as good as materials from bovine or porcine origin, but work as well. We only buy and use the best materials available on the dental market and continue to follow and contribute to the latest research on that matter as this area of dentistry is fast evolving.

Block graft

In rare cases the loss of bone and soft tissue is so great that an implantation with simultaneous bone augmentation is not possible or only at a great risk. In these cases we use bone transplants from the lower jaw rear to augment the area where the bone is missing. Sometimes we combine this with a soft tissue graft/transplant from the palate. Once the anatomy is restored we can safely place an implant. The block grafting includes the bone transplant, the artificial bone and a membrane to cover the defect.

A sinus tap – or internal sinus lift – is a procedure to lift the sinus floor of the upper jaw to allow for a longer implant to be placed. All-on-4™ – Fixed teeth in a day

For this procedure we produce diagnostics records (3-D X-ray, models, a bite, photos, drilling template and a temporary). In the operation we remove the remaining but non-vital teeth – or teeth that have to be strategically extracted – place four implants per jaw, take an impression and produce an immediate temporary you can go out with on the same day. All pre- and post-operative medication is also included. The final restoration is produced with either a metal or ultramodern composite framework and individually placed with industrially prefabricated teeth. The gum is made from standard PMMA resin.

Professor Christian  Mehl , is out on his own. He is the very best. So welcoming to all his patients. Makes you feel right at home. His Hygienist Jennifer is in a class of her own. Did a brilliant job on cleaning my implants. Really made ne feel relaxed.Talked me through every step of the procedure. Rebecca , Professor Mehl’s nurse/Assistant couldn’t have been more helpful. The reception Staff were lovely & as helpful as could possibly be. All in all my experience with “Wimpole dentil  Clinic “  was to say the least a very relaxed, professional experience. In one word: Superb! After years of knowing there was something wrong about the care I'd received by my previous dentist I took the leap to a private practice and I don't look back. Oh waouw I Was in for a Super Surprise.  I booked a hygenist session with the lovely Jennifer today.  I was in for a real treat.  She went through the process thoroughly  and yet I felt neither pain or sensitivity whatsoever.  She is very confident because she OBVIOUSLY knows her stuff.  The clinic is UBER spotlessly clean.  So you can totally relax you are in very good hands.  A really nice experience. If you are looking for top quality hygenist.  👌  Do it & book a session with her. You won't be disappointed.
