Case Study: Immediate implants and restoration to replace failing front teeth
The patient had an accident as a child now resulting in four failing front teeth in the upper jaw. The gums around the teeth were very inflamed and the patient exhibited a so-called “gummy smile”.
Dentist:
Prof Dr Christian Mehl
Treatment undertaken:
After taking a 3-D X-ray, digital photographs and a digital 3-D scan in one session, the four upper front teeth were removed. The bone was recontoured to adjust the gummy smile, two fully guided implants placed and immediately restored with a temporary tooth. The final restoration was placed 2 months after the initial operation.
