What happens during Profhilo treatment?

On the day of your consultation, your doctor will thoroughly explain the Profhilo treatment and assess if it is the right choice for you. They may also suggest complementary treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections for the upper face, since Profhilo is typically used for the mid and lower face. Additionally, your doctor will recommend skincare products to enhance the results of your Profhilo treatment.

If there are no contraindications, you can receive your first Profhilo dose on the same day. To ensure your comfort, numbing cream can be applied to your skin for 10-15 minutes prior to the treatment. During the procedure, you will receive a series of five injections on each side of your face, targeting the mid and lower regions. Note that areas like the forehead, nose, and under-eye will not be treated, although you may still notice improved skin quality under the eyes.

While the injections may cause a stinging sensation, you can mitigate discomfort by applying numbing cream and taking two paracetamol tablets before your appointment, provided you have no contraindications. Immediately after the treatment, you might observe small lumps at the injection sites resembling bee stings; these typically subside within 30 minutes but can persist for up to 24 hours. To optimize your results, avoid applying any products, including makeup, on the treated areas for at least six hours post-treatment.
