Front tooth implant & replacement options
Case Study
A failing root canal treatment combined with a vertical fracture made the extraction of the front tooth necessary. Out of the usual five options (doing nothing/omission, bridge, Maryland bridge, removable denture, implant) the patient wanted to go for an immediate implant and immediate restoration.
After obtaining the initial diagnostic records consisting of photographs, a digital 3-D scan and a 3-D CBCT the tooth was extracted and an implant was placed immediately. Two hours later a temporary was placed directly on the implant. Three months later the final restoration was placed.
