Inflammation of the gums around crowns
In this video, we explore a special case that demonstrates the importance of maintaining biological width when placing crowns or other restorations. This case showcases the effects of preparing teeth too deeply, leading to inflammation, and the steps we took to restore the patient’s smile while ensuring long-term success.
Patient Overview: This 30-year-old female patient came to us with four front crowns that were causing significant inflammation due to the crowns being placed too close to the bone. Although her oral hygiene was fairly good, the crowns had been prepared too deeply, violating the biological width and causing irritation and inflammation.
