Biography

Negin’s experience in hospitals and general practices has given her particular skills in understanding problems of diagnosis, case management of multidisciplinary cases, and treatment planning. She believes in close collaboration with the referring dentists to provide the highest level of (evidence-based) endodontics tailored suited to her patients. Negin believes that the patient’s journey is very important. With her many years of experience at dealing with nervous patients and her calm demeanour, she ensures that the patients are fully informed and are as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

She works in several private referral-based practices in and around London. Referrals she receives are from other specialists, General Dental practitioners, self-referred and patient recommendations. She ensures that the referring dentist are fully informed with timely reports and close follow-up when required.

Negin is very passionate about her chosen field of endodontics and continues to maintain and update her skills by attending numerous national and international conferences. During her undergraduate studies, she won the Malleson Prize for her research. Negin keeps up with the latest research in Endodontics and has recently carried out research on endodontic sealers with professor Camilleri at the Birmingham Dental School. Teaching remains a passion of Negin and she continues to run CPD courses and welcomes opportunities for in-house training for general practitioners.

Additionally, Negin was the treasurer for the exclusive Langham endodontic society and an active executive member for five years. Negin is one of the local representatives of the Dental Trauma UK.

She enjoys all aspect of endodontics, from simple primary root canal treatment to most complex root canal re-treatment, pulp therapy and regeneration and trauma cases. Lastly Negin is very approachable and is happy to provide advice and guidance regarding any endodontic issues and strives to answer all emails to the best of her ability and efficiently.

Research

  • 2019: part time honorary research fellow, working with Dr Josette Camilleri at the Birmingham Dental school. I am honoured to be involved and be part of the team researching with Dr Camilleri. At present I am conducting an in-vitro study of hydraulic sealers and their properties
  • 2006: Thesis submitted as part of specialist training “Morphological changes of the root surfaces following apicectomies using Er:YAG laser and bur: a scanning electron microscopic study” (please refer to appendix 1 for abstract)
  • 2004: Literature search on the use of non-eugenol endodontic sealers. The aim of this search was to consider laboratory experiments and clinical studies of non-eugenol based root canal sealers. An extensive search of the endodontic literature was made to identify publications related to non-eugenol based sealers. The sources of the articles were from Evidence based dentistry, PubMed and Cochrane library. The articles were assessed for the outcome of laboratory and clinical studies on their biological properties and physical characteristics. Review of the articles on properties such as physical properties, biocompatibility, leakage, adhesion, solubility, antibacterial properties, and periapical healing effect was carried out

  • 1997: Dental public health project: General dental practitioner’s views on the capitation scheme based at Corydon and Lewisham areas
