Case Study: Immediate implant for a front tooth

Despite high levels of scientific evidence and predictable bone and soft tissue (gum) resorption patterns and computer-guided implant placement many dentists still avoid immediate implant placements. I have made it my mission to change this as this procedure reduces dental visits, pain and brings much better aesthetic results.

In this case a patient cracked her root canal treated upper left incisor.

How do Immediate Implants work?

Step 1: The initial situation

The patient had cracked her root canal treated upper left incisor and came to us for repair.

Step 2: Extraction

We decided to extract the toot and at the same day place an immediate implant.

Step 3: Treatment

At the same time we undertook a connective tissue graft and immediate temporarisation.

Step 4: One week later

After one week the soft tissue still looks a bit swollen – as expected.

Step 5: Final restoration

After three months we placed the final restoration, which is whiter as the patient wanted to pursue a veneer treatment on the upper right central incisor and for the rest of the teeth whitening.

Step 6: Results

The gum line looks absolutely perfect and proves that biological reaction is predictable.
