Kiel Lecture 26

Prof Dr Christian Mehl delivers specialist lectures at Kiel University

Wimpole Street Dental Clinic is proud to share that Prof Dr Christian Mehl recently delivered a series of specialist lectures at Christian-Albrechts-University at Kiel in Germany on 15 and 16 January 2026. The sessions brought together students, academic staff and experienced clinicians, reinforcing Prof Mehl’s ongoing involvement in international education and clinical knowledge exchange.

Advancing clinical excellence in prosthodontics and implantology

The main lectures focused on contemporary approaches to prosthodontics and implantology, covering evidence-based treatment planning, restorative precision and the integration of advanced implant techniques into everyday clinical practice. Drawing on decades of academic research and real-world experience, Prof Mehl explored how digital workflows, guided implant surgery and restorative planning can work together to improve patient outcomes.

His presentations highlighted the importance of long-term stability, functional rehabilitation and aesthetic predictability, topics that remain central to the treatment philosophy at Wimpole Street Dental Clinic.

Specialist photography training for dental professionals

Alongside the clinical lectures, Prof Mehl also delivered a dedicated photography course aimed at improving clinical documentation and case presentation. Dental photography plays a vital role in diagnosis, treatment planning and patient communication, as well as academic publication and education.

The course provided practical guidance on lighting, composition and workflow efficiency, helping clinicians capture consistent, high-quality images that support both clinical accuracy and professional standards.

Strengthening international academic collaboration

Christian-Albrechts-University at Kiel is one of Germany’s leading academic institutions, with a strong reputation in dental research and postgraduate education. Prof Mehl’s return to Kiel reflects his long-standing academic connections and his continued commitment to supporting the next generation of dental professionals.

Speaking about the visit, Prof Dr Christian Mehl said:

“Teaching and exchanging ideas with colleagues and students is always inspiring. These sessions are an opportunity to share clinical experience, discuss emerging technologies and continue pushing standards forward in implantology and restorative dentistry.”
