How does Vital Pulp Therapy treatment work?

Step 1: Removing decay

After examination, the dental team diagnosed her with symptomatic reversible pulpitis in the UR6. This condition involves temporary inflammation of the dental pulp, where the tooth’s
nerves and blood vessels are, causing sensitivity to temperature changes. The diagnosis indicates that the condition can be treated and reversed with appropriate dental care.

Step 2: Vital pulp therapy and composite restoration

The old metal filling was carefully removed using advanced sterile methods and a dental microscope. Once exposed, part of the pulp was removed and treated with a bioactive material called Biodentine. Afterward, the tooth was restored with a composite material by our restorative team, ensuring its strength and functionality. With this approach, we avoided root canal treatment as the tooth remained vital and without symptoms.
